Research Abstract

In this paper, local similarity solutions of natural convective boundary-layer flow over a
vertical semi-infinite cylinder embedded in a porous medium saturated with a nanofluid is presented.
The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of buoyancy forces, Brownian motion,
thermophoresis and Lewis number. The governing partial differential equations and the corresponding
boundary conditions are reduced to ordinary differential equations with appropriate corresponding
boundary conditions. Numerical solutions of the resulting system of ordinary differential equations are
obtained and the flow and heat transfer characteristics are discussed for various values of the
governing nanofluid parameters
