Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Al Jamal, President of Assiut University, Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, witnessed the university's celebration of International Women's Day, which was organized by the Egyptian Youth House for Development in cooperation with the National Council of Women in the presence of Dr. Marwa Kadwani, Rapporteur of the National Council of Women, Mr. Hussein Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Youth House for Development, and with the participation of a group of students from the University.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Maha Ghanem stressed that the University's celebration of International Women's Day came in belief in the active leading roles in society to promote the Arab nation in various fields, explaining that egyptian women must be shed and highlighted to this day the development and progress achieved at the scientific and professional levels and their occupation of rational leadership positions for their important role in building society. She stressed the interest of the Egyptian state and its keenness to support women and empower them economically, socially, and in her speech praised the efforts of women and their dedication to the service of their surroundings and their sacrifices to qualify promising generations for a better future.
In a related context, Dr. Marwa Kadwani explained the efforts of the National Council for Women and the activities provided by the Council to preserve women from all forms of domestic violence such as circumcision, early marriage, failure to complete the girl's march in education and depriving her of inheritance with the participation of elite community cadres and through door-knocking campaigns and addressing the head of the family in centers, villages and hamlets of the importance of their role in protecting women. The importance of educating young people about the role of women and the importance of their participation in all fields, praising the efforts of the Egyptian state under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in providing decent life initiatives and awareness campaigns as well as educational seminars to empower and support women socially.
