Major General Staff Mohib Habashi, Commander of the Southern Military Region, participated with Dr. Tarek Al-Jamal, President of Assiut University, and Dr. Shehata Ghraib, Vice President of the University for Education and Students, in the progress of a mass march in the media and presented by military music, which included thousands of Egyptian university students and incoming students represented by more than 30 Arab and African countries as part of the events of the second day of the second forum program of Peoples Week, which raised the slogan "Peoples against extremism and terrorism" and also witnessed the participation of university guests Dr. Yousef Al-Wardani Assistant Minister of Youth, Dr. Jalal Salem, Vice President of Port Said University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Fathi Nada, Captain of Sports Professions, and journalist Mahmoud Bakri, as well as a number of officers and soldiers of the Southern Military Region of Assiut and a group of deans, agents and students of the university from various colleges and gentlemen coordinators of student activities at the university.
Dr. Tarek Al-Jamal stated that the keenness of the southern military region and university work leaders inside and outside Assiut University to advance the march is a confirmation of the rejection of extremism by the Arab and African peoples and their response to any attempt to spread terrorism and attempts to destroy and sabotage, and renew the university's call for the unity of peoples on the noble human principles based on tolerance and justice and the thought of accepting the other and freedom of religion and doctrine.
Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs and General Supervisor of the Organization of the Forum, also pointed out that the march is a confirmation of the message of the People's Week Forum in its second edition held under the same title "Peoples against extremism and terrorism", which runs in the university's rehab from March 23 to 28, 2022, pointing out that the forum comes within the framework of the program of building awareness intellectually and culturally, which was started by the university during the past years and aimed at promoting the values of national belonging Among young people and spreading peace and moderate thought and the vision of young people with the attempts faced by the Egyptian state to undermine its security and stability by spreading rumors and spreading intellectual poisons that incite extremism and takfiri and fanatic currents.
