Research Abstract

Abstract
Reactive dyes are the most interesting classes that used for printing silk fabric because they offer a wide range of bright shades with excellent fastness which attributed to the ability of these dyes to react chemically with silk fibroin. Trichloroacetic-acid (TCA) was selected to be used for controlling the pH value during the printing process to get a maximum colour yield as well as dye fixation on silk fabric printed with different types of reactive dyes. The rheological properties of the printing paste contains different concentrations of TCA were examined. Fastness properties give very good /excellent results for the most applied reactive dyes.
