Assiut University's Contribution to Good Health and Well-Being 

Assiut University plays a central role in advancing healthcare, public health research, and community well-being across Upper Egypt and beyond. In alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) and Egypt's Vision 2030, the university actively promotes local, national, and international partnerships with healthcare institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and international research entities.

Through its extensive healthcare and research network, including the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Pharmacy, South Egypt Cancer Institute (SECI), and Assiut University Hospitals Complex, the university strengthens cross-sector collaboration to improve healthcare services and research outcomes.

Key Areas of Collaboration

• Enhancing Public Health Services: Partnering with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to support national health campaigns, preventive healthcare programs, and rural healthcare outreach across Upper Egypt.
• Advancing Collaborative Medical Research: Collaborating with international research institutes and universities to address endemic, infectious, and non-communicable diseases.
• Capacity Building and Medical Training: Organizing clinical workshops, training programs, and scientific exchanges to strengthen healthcare professionals' skills and competencies.
• Promoting Sustainable Healthcare Outcomes: Developing partnerships to improve access to high-quality healthcare and promote sustainable health outcomes throughout Upper Egypt.

Healthcare Services and Medical Treatment Contracts

International Medical Missions and Training

In collaboration with Operation Smile, Assiut University conducted 3 international and 12 national medical missions, during which 5,386 surgeries were performed.

• 9 training courses organized for 1,200 healthcare service providers.
• 12 training workshops attended by 1,021 participants and 40 families.
• Approximately 48 international workshops and conferences organized during the reporting period.

Medical Partnerships and Research Publications

During the 2024/2025 academic year, Assiut University established 30 protocols in the medical sector, strengthening cooperation among healthcare institutions and supporting medical services and research activities.

Furthermore, the university reported 984 medical research publications indexed in Scopus during the reporting period, reflecting its contribution to scientific research and the advancement of medical knowledge.

Through these initiatives, Assiut University continues to serve as a major academic, research, and healthcare provider in Upper Egypt. Its commitment to strategic partnerships, medical education, scientific research, and community outreach contributes to improving healthcare accessibility and quality while advancing SDG 3 and Egypt's Vision 2030.
