Department Vision

The vision of the Department of soils and water, achieves the vision of the Faculty of Agriculture, through the excellence in education programs to prepare professionals who are scientifically and practically qualified to compete domestically and internationally in achieving a sustainable agricultural development with preserving the environment and preparing teaching staff and researchers who have excellent abilities for conducting scientific researches and practical projects and providing technical advice to investors and decision makers in the area of exploitation and development of soil and water resources development and preserving them from pollution and attrition.
 

Department Objectives

1- Providing an excellent tutorial program for undergraduate and graduate stages with developing the plan and courses of the department for the students of these stages to keep up with the national and international developments and to adopt the community needs.
2- Providing sophisticated scientific studies and researches that are closely linked to the community service to resolve its problems, preserve the environment from pollution, lead to a sustainable development and to maximize the productivity of the unit of soil and water.
3- Department adoption for practical training programs and the continuing education that concentrate on skills in using the modern techniques for reclaiming and cultivating the desert soils and raising the quality of both old and new reclaimed ones as well as increasing the fertilizer and water use efficiencies.
4- Continuous preparation of training programs and courses for graduates to help them to implement the agricultural policies for the community service and for developing the environment as well as to compete nationally and internationally.
5- Research cooperation and integration with other Departments of this Faculty and Assiut University as well as other Universities and Agricultural Research Centers to implement research program packages for the community service and developing the environment.
6- Department adoption for a continuous assessment system to ensure the development of performance in the areas of education, scientific research, community service and developing the environment.
7- Providing scientific and technical advice in the areas of soil and water sciences.
