The Dean of the College receives the CEO of 3D GEOSCAN on the sidelines of a workshop organized by the Department of Architecture.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Professor Dr. Khaled Salah, Dean of the Faculty, received Engineer Abdel Rahman Abbas, Executive Director of 3D GEOSCAN. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the company's presentation of a workshop at the Department of Architecture entitled "Laser Scanning Technology: A Revolution in Documenting Heritage and Shaping the Digital Future in Various Fields." The workshop was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and faculty and department leaders.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Safwat Abu-Reya, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Khaled Ali Youssef, Head of the Department of Architecture; and Dr. Mohamed Nabil, Workshop Coordinator in the Department of Architecture. Engineer Karim Gad from 3D GEOSCAN also attended.

The meeting included presenting a certificate of appreciation to the company for hosting the workshop. The meeting also discussed prospects for future cooperation with the Faculty, its units, and various fields, as well as ways for the company to support student projects and participate in sponsoring scientific and practical events organized by the Faculty.

The workshop reviewed various applications of scanning devices, particularly in the fields of architectural and urban documentation and heritage documentation. It also included a practical demonstration of the devices' use in documenting the amphitheater where the workshop was held and the entrance to the Department of Architecture.

The Dean of the College also praised the outstanding activity witnessed by the Department of Architecture and its significant impact on the educational process in particular and on the research and service process in general.
