Effect of particle size on thermophysical and heat transfer properties of Ag nanofluid in a radiator–an experimental investigation

Research Abstract

In this experimental and statistical investigation, Silver (Ag) nanoparticles with varying particle sizes of 20 nm with the base fluid of EG and DI water are tested to improve the heat transfer properties of the car radiator. The thermophysical properties are tested at temperatures varying from 35 to 75 °C. Results showed that small nanoparticles had higher thermophysical properties than large nanoparticles. The heat transfer properties along with friction factor characteristics are measured. A total of 20 nm of Ag has higher thermal transfer properties than other nanofluids; it can be concluded that smaller nanoparticles can improve thermal properties and minimize the radiator size compared to traditional coolants. A systematic optimized RSM-based architecture has been developed to define the quantitative estimate of the specific design parameters influencing nanofluid heat transfer properties and friction factor …

Soret and Dufour effects on Oldroyd-B fluid flow under the influences of convective boundary condition with Stefan blowing effect

Research Abstract

The current research is emphasizing on non-Newtonian liquid flow characteristics and their applications. There has been a lot of interest in using these fluids in biological and technical disciplines. Having such substantial interest in ferromagnetic non-Newtonian fluids, our goal is to explain the Soret and Dufour effects on an Oldroyd-B liquid flow past a stretching sheet with magnetic dipole and Stefan blowing effects. Furthermore, the modelled equations are converted to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) by applying appropriate similarity transformations. The Runge–Kutta procedure with the shooting approach is then used to solve the ODEs. Numerical solutions are obtained for the flow, energy, concentration, rate of heat transfer, and mass transfer properties, which are then explained using appropriate graphs and tables. The significant results of the present study are that the increase in values of the porosity …
