Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy Expresses Gratitude to Doctors for Their Efforts in Enhancing Healthcare and Providing Outstanding Medical Services at University Hospitals.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, thanked all medical staff on the occasion of the Egyptian Doctor's Day, which is celebrated on March 18 every year, in recognition of their efforts in promoting health care and providing excellent medical services at Assiut University Hospitals.
In this context, Assiut University Hospitals organized a special ceremony under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy to honor doctors for their contributions to advancing the medical sector and serving the community.
The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors; Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, Director of the Main University Hospital; and Dr. Diaa Abdel Hamid, President of the Assiut Medical Syndicate. The ceremony took place at the conference hall of the university hospital.
The ceremony was attended by a number of university leaders, including Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hoda Makhlouf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of doctors and faculty members from various medical departments.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that honoring distinguished medical competencies is an incentive for doctors to continue their work faithfully, praising the efforts of all medical workers at the university, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses and technicians, who contribute to providing integrated medical care with the highest quality standards.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla praised the importance of this day, which reflects the Egyptian state's appreciation, led by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, of the health sector, noting that education and health are the foundation of any renaissance. Dr. Alaa Attia also noted that Assiut University hospitals provide advanced medical services, and that honoring distinguished doctors enhances their dedication and devotion to their work.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz spoke about the history of Egyptian Doctor's Day, which marks the anniversary of the opening of the first medical school in Abu Zaabal in 1827, stressing that Egyptian doctors have made great contributions to the development of health care throughout the ages.
Dr. Diaa El-Din Abdel Hamid expressed his pride in organizing this celebration for the first time inside Assiut University Hospitals, in recognition of its pioneering role in medical education and scientific research.
The celebration featured a documentary showcasing the achievements of doctors at Assiut University Hospitals, particularly in performing complex surgical procedures. Additionally, Dr. Atef El-Qarn, Professor of Pulmonology, delivered a commemorative lecture titled “Egyptian Doctor’s Day,” where he reviewed the history of the medical profession and the role of doctors in serving society.
Ms. Sanaa Mazid, Director of the Technical Training and Nursing Development Department, also recited a poem in appreciation of doctors’ efforts.
At the end of the ceremony, a group of distinguished doctors and professors from various specialties were honored, namely: Dr. Mahmoud Raafat Abdel Fadil (Professor of Medical Physiology), Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Mohamed (Professor of ENT), Dr. Mostafa Abdel Hafez (Professor of Plastic Surgery and Burns), Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Mostafa (Professor of Pediatric Surgery and former Dean of South Egypt Oncology Institute), Dr. Magda Mohamed Attia (Professor of Medical Parasites), Dr. Osama Ahmed Farouk (Professor of Orthopedics), and Dr. Nahed Ahmed Makhlouf (Professor of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology (Professor of Orthopedic Surgery), Dr. Nahed Ahmed Makhlouf (Professor of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology and Head of the Internal Liver Transplant Team), Dr. Khaled Abdel Azim Mohamed (Professor of Ophthalmology), Dr. Yasser Abdel Moneim Mohamed (Lecturer, Department of Diagnostic Radiology), Dr. Hamdy Mohamed Mohamed (Lecturer, Department of Family Medicine), and Dr. Alaa Mohamed Mahmoud (Lecturer, Department of Dermatology).
The event was organized by Ms. Randa Abdel Khalek Tharwat from the Media Center of Assiut University Hospitals, along with Ms. Hanan Galal and Mr. Ayman El-Hajj from the Public Relations Department of the Main Hospital.
