Assiut University President opens an artistic exhibition entitled Tohoku through the eyes of Japanese photographers

Assiut University President, Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, emphasized the university's appreciation and respect for all forms of arts as well as the university’s belief in the role of art in documenting the history and culture of peoples' civilizations. This was announced during the opening of an artistic exhibition, entitled "Tohoku through the eyes of Japanese photographers," organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts in the exhibition hall of the administrative building in cooperation with the Japanese Foundation, which was represented at the opening by Mr. Yufu Kazawa, Director of the Foundation, and Mr. Satoshi Kawakita, Program Coordinator at Japan Foundation in Cairo. Dr. Mohammad Thabit Badari said that the exhibition comes within the framework of the cooperation of the Faculty with the Japan Foundation in Cairo, which has been extended since the opening of the Faculty of Fine Arts and witnessed close cooperation in organizing a number of activities and cultural events. He explained that the exhibition includes 123 paintings and documentaries on the most important aspects of Japanese culture and civilization, with the participation of a team of 9 professional photographers.
