President of Assiut University: We are keen to provide all the ingredients that ensure a safe and risk-free educational environment

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, issued a number of directives for the administrations of faculties, university institutes, and their various sectors, related to providing a safe educational environment, applying procedures, civil protection requirements, and occupational health and safety; for university employees.

This coincides with the start of the new academic year 2024/2025 AD, and the regularity of the educational process at the university, and out of the university administration's keenness to provide a safe and sound educational environment; governed by plans and programs, which are concerned with preparing for crises and speed of dealing with them; to ensure the prevention of risks.

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy's directives included the administrations of faculties, university institutes, and their various sectors; following up the implementation of all the elements that ensure the provision of a safe educational environment free of risks, by ensuring the quality of ventilation inside the halls and classrooms, especially in faculties with a high numerical density, with the need to review the safety system and occupational health system in various colleges; and this includes following up the efficiency of the infrastructure of buildings and facilities, evaluating the fire extinguishing system, electricity, lighting, and the operation of elevators, in addition to following up the effectiveness of the contracts concluded with the competent authorities in this regard, and renewing the finishing the finished.

Prof. Al-Minshawy directed the implementation of a periodic action plan to ensure the cleanliness of faculties and campuses, and the daily disposal of any waste or waste, and to develop effective and safe mechanisms for collecting and disposing of it properly, through directing solid waste, from furniture and study tools, and coordinating with specialists; to discuss the possibility of recycling and reutilizing it.

Assiut University announced workshops, training and awareness courses aimed at raising individuals' awareness of safety procedures, occupational health, and evacuation plan when any disasters occur.
