Assiut University Faculty of Medicine Organizes a Symposium on Kidney Diseases

Under the auspices of Prof. Mohammed Samiea Eid, President of Assiut University, Prof. Ahmed Makhlouf, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Nour Eddeen Abdel-Azim, Chair, Department of Internal Medicine, the Faulty of Medicine, Assiut University held a symposium on kidney diseases.   Dr. Ashraf Al-Shazly, Chairman of the symposium declared that the meeting was concerned with the state–of- the-art in the field of kidney diseases and proper treatments and surgeries. The symposium included three academic lectures; the first on "kidney transplant; Why? When? And how? " This lectured was delivered by Prof. Rashad Barsoum, Professor of Internal Medicine, Cairo University and former President of the Egyptian Society of Nephrology, a winner of several international awards in the field of treating kidney disease. The second lecture: “A Plan for the Proper Methods Dealing with Kidney Diseases" by Prof. Mohammed Abbas Sobh, professor of Internal Medicine, Assiut University.  The third lecture was given by Prof. Nour Eddeen Abdel-Azim, Chair, Department of Internal Medicine, the Faulty of Medicine, Assiut University on " High Blood Pressure in Critical Cases." In these three lectures, several issues were highlighted: the practical steps in kidney transplant, preparation procedures,   conditions of the donor, as well as the medical institution that performs such surgeries, in addition to the psychological condition and concern for dialysis patients.   All speakers assured the high response rate due to the progress of medicine. They also assured the success of kidney transplant surgeries which reaches 90 % of the cases.
