The Public Policy Information Systems (PPIS) program Faculty of Commerce - Assiut University

Assiut University, under the provision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, presents a distinguished range of academic programs for the academic year 2024/2025 that meet the needs of the labor market and provide students with unique opportunities to achieve their career goals.

One of these programs is the Public Policy Information Systems (PPIS) program presented by the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University, in English language and in a credit hour system. This program merge information technology and data analysis with public policies set by institutions, public bodies, and private companies, supporting the decision-making process to reach the best solutions to the problems faced by the public or private sector within the framework of Egypt's digital transformation strategy.

The program is supervised by Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Ahmed El-Shoura, the General Coordinator of the program.

The program is open to students with a General Secondary Education Certificate or its equivalent in the same academic year of acceptance to the Faculty of Commerce through the coordination office. The required English language proficiency level is declared according to the faculty’s internal coordination conditions.

The program aims to provide different sectors and state institutions with distinguished graduates in the field of Public Policy Information Systems. It also aims to produce outstanding graduates equipped with the skills and capabilities needed for the government and private sector job markets, and to establish partnerships and agreements with international universities and institutes in the field of Public Policy Information Systems.

The program includes content related to programming and data science, artificial intelligence, as well as specialized economic courses such as economic statistics, money and banking, public finance, digital marketing, public policy marketing, as well as courses targeting communication skills such as leadership, communication, and public opinion.

The duration for completing the PPIS program is a minimum of four academic years for students to obtain a bachelor's degree in PPIS.

Graduates of the PPIS program have various job opportunities including working in government ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Finance, Planning and International Cooperation, Industry, Ministry of Investment, Suez Canal Authority, local service and development ministries, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
There are also opportunities in banks, financial institutions, tax authorities, investment authorities, chambers of commerce, public and private sector companies, investment companies, financial and economic companies, stock exchanges, and financial markets.

Additionally, graduates can pursue diplomatic careers in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consular work, political analysis departments, and public policy centers affiliated with the Cabinet.
