Prof. El-Minshawy: the organization of the training program confirms Assiut University's interest in educating and training young people to create an environment that does not allow corruption at all levels

Prof. Ahmed El - Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened this Sunday morning 10 November; the activities of the training program; for university students; in the field of governance and anti-corruption, which is organized by the University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, headed by Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and higher research, the United Nations program to combat crime and drugs, and the Administrative Control Authority, in implementation of the Global Initiative for education and youth empowerment; in the field of anti-corruption (grace), under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Adawi, director of the Center for future studies, and coordinator of Assiut University in the Global Initiative for education, and youth empowerment.
The training program is the culmination of the University's successful steps to implement national strategies aimed at combating corruption, addressing all its forms and forms, and consolidating the principles of transparency and integrity, and its activities extend during the period from 10 To 12 from November, during which a group of experts and academics from various concerned parties will lecture on combating corruption.
The opening of the program witnessed the presence of Dean Amr Ahmed, head of the training and examinations group at the National Anti-Corruption Academy, Administrative Control Authority, and Dr. Abdul Karim Mohammed Abu Leifa, trainer of the United Nations Global Initiative for Education and Youth empowerment in the field of anti-corruption, with the participation of about (50) trainees from students and researchers.
Major General Mamdouh Zeidan is a lecturer in crisis management and national security at the National Academy for AntiCorruption, Administrative Control Authority, and Dr. Amal Al-Fiqi is a business administration teacher.
At the beginning of his speech, prof. Al-Minshawy expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Administrative Control Authority for its leading role in supporting the efforts of the Egyptian state in combating corruption, and its participation in this important training program, pointing out the keenness of the Egyptian state to join the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which is a good example; for its belief that corruption is no longer a local affair, but a global phenomenon; leading to the instability of societies, exposing sustainable development, and human rights; to multiple risks،
Prof. El-Minshawy stressed that the organization of the training program reflects a strong message confirming Assiut University's interest in the role of the Egyptian state and its wise leadership's orientation towards educating and training young people to achieve change in creating an environment that does not allow corruption at all levels of society, praising the awareness-raising process carried out by Assiut University in the field of anti-corruption, which began early, as the university organized a series of awareness seminars on the objectives of the national strategy to combat corruption in various faculties and sectors of the University.
The president of Assiut University pointed out that the world celebrates World Anti-Corruption Day on the ninth day of December, and International Human Rights Day is also celebrated on the tenth day of the same month, which confirms the link between preventing and combating corruption, human rights, and his right to live in an environment characterized by integrity and transparency, hoping that this training program will be a distinguished platform to promote awareness and develop youth skills to support, achieve transparency and integrity.
Prof . El-Minshawy explained: that Assiut University is keen on the governance of all policies, procedures, and services it provides, and the development of internal audit mechanisms to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency in various sectors, and enhance transparency and accountability by monitoring any violations or excesses of the laws and regulations in force, and then improving the overall performance of the University's departments, faculties, institutes, and hospitals.
Prof . El-Minshawy pointed to the beginning of the launch of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, of the first national strategy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of anti-corruption during the period from 2014 to 2018, and the launch of the second phase 2019-2022, with a clear vision, and to reach "a society that recognizes the risks of corruption, rejects it, and values integrity", the third phase of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (2022/2030) was launched on December 15, 2022, at the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority, under the patronage of His Excellency the president of the Republic.
The president of Assiut University reviewed the most prominent events organized by the University in the field of anti-corruption, including a three-month awareness program in the field of anti-corruption, which was carried out at the request of the coordinator of the Ministry, Dr. Mahmoud El-Said, and the National Academy for anti-corruption within the framework of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, in addition to the establishment of the Assiut University model to emulate the United Nations Multilateral Convention in the field of anti-corruption, the university also celebrated its winning students and participants in the policy papers competition in the field of anti-corruption (grace) for the year 2030.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Adawi pointed to the need to combat corruption through various state institutions, which Assiut University is keen to activate by organizing many important events related to this field, which had a good return on students, in developing their skills, abilities, and raising their awareness of national issues; to be ambassadors of the University in the field of anti-corruption, as well as its role in spreading awareness of the importance of adhering to the principles, foundations of governance, and procedures organized to perform functions and various tasks, sending his thanks to the Administrative Control Authority, the academic for their cooperation in organizing this training program; as a step on the path of sustainable development, and Egypt's Vision 2030.
Dean Amr Ahmed explained: that the training program aims to spread awareness against corruption among university students, and how to combat it, to achieve the desired results, as well as to change many of the prevailing concepts, which are (postulates) among some individuals, due to its spread, through activating cultures that are resistant to corruption, rejecting it, and not tolerating any appearance or corrupt behavior, pointing out to provide distinctive training content for university students, through which to achieve optimal benefit, transfer experiences, to continue working to address this phenomenon, and consolidate a conscious community culture.
The training program witnessed the dedication of the University shield, provided by Prof El -Minshawy, to Dean Amr Ahmed, head of the training and examinations group at the National Academy for Combating Corruption, Administrative Control Authority, and Dr. Abdul Karim Mohammed Abu Leifa, trainer of the United Nations Global Initiative, for education and youth empowerment in the field of anti-corruption.
It is worth mentioning that the training program includes several important lectures in the field of anti-corruption, where the first-day deals with three lectures on the Administrative Control Authority, the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, corruption, and national security, and the second day deals with three lectures, namely; communication skills, business ethics, presentation skills, preparing a resume, and entrepreneurship, while the third day is discussed through three lectures; corruption: (its effects, causes, and measurement), corruption in the private sector, anti-corruption tools, through practical application.
