The Faculty of Education continues the activities of the seventy-fourth session to prepare the university teacher at Assiut University

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Faculty of Education continues the activities of the seventy-fourth training course for the preparation of the university teacher, dedicated to the assistants of faculty members and researchers, until Thursday, June 19, in the conference and discussions Hall at the faculty.

 Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the importance of the course in developing the pedagogical and educational skills of trainees and qualifying them to perform the duties of a faculty member, with its academic and educational responsibilities. He explained that passing the course is a prerequisite for promotion or appointment as a teacher, in accordance with the law on the organization of universities, within the framework of the state's keenness to develop the higher education system and promote scientific research.

The course is held under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Mohammed Hawail, dean of the College of Education, Dr. Amani Mohammed Sharif, vice dean for community service and environmental development and course rapporteur, with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Jaber Qasem, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Hassan al-Sayed, vice dean for graduate studies and research, in addition to the presence of a selection of faculty members and their assistants.

During his lecture, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, who delivered a lecture entitled "university education and its role in community service", explained that the university represents one of the most important influential community entities, because of its pivotal role in providing continuous learning opportunities for community members, through organizing workshops, training courses and seminars in various disciplines. He also stressed the importance of the participation of students and graduates in community and voluntary initiatives, cultural and health activities, as they have a direct impact on raising awareness and improving the quality of life, pointing to their pivotal role in drawing development policies and contributing to achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.

Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and Research Affairs, gave a lecture entitled "Ethical Considerations in scientific research; supervision of scientific theses", during which he discussed a set of concepts and controls for academic supervision of scientific theses, stressing the importance of the scientific and human relationship between the supervisor and the student, and the need to adhere to a clear supervision plan that guarantees the mutual rights of both parties, and setting a timetable clarifying the stages of preparing the thesis.

He also pointed out the need to commit to preparing semi-annual reports signed by supervisors and students, taking into account the linguistic and methodological aspects when writing letters, and being careful to adhere to the established quotation rates. He also reviewed the controls of scientific publishing, and the steps of publishing in international journals, explaining how to ensure that they are indexed by the WOS website and classified within the Q index.
