Assiut University has done all necessary preparations for the First Semester Exams in all University Faculties and Institutes. After meeting all Faculty Deans and Trustees, Dr. Mustafa M. Kamal, University President made sure that all arrangements and preparations are now well-taken care of; all auditoriums and classrooms scheduled for the purpose of exams are now well-equipped and necessary maintenance work is already done. Dr. Adel Rayan, Vice President for Education and Students' Affairs added that medical units and necessary provisions of medications are available within all exam spots to deal with any emergency case. An ambulance is also available outside exam areas for cases demanding treatment at university hospitals. Prof. Rayan indicated that the University President assured that the performance during this Semester Exams must by all mean be no less than the performance of last year, and that Deans and Faculty members must be available during exam time so that they can resolve students' problems if there are any. It was also decided that and marking the exams and control work must immediately start after the end of the exam. It is noteworthy that around seventy thousand students in 19 faculties are having exams during this semester stating on Saturday, 29th of December. Exams will continue until January 24th 2013 and the mid-year vacation will commence on the 26th January for two weeks. The Open Education exams had already begun on earlier this month and ended in most faculties.
