Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University, announced that the university occupied the fourth place, which is the highest scientific citations level in Egyptian universities after the universities of Cairo, Mansoura and Ain Shams, according to what was announced by the Spanish Webometrics classification in January 2022.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies, explained that the Spanish Webometrics classification was announced in its last report issued in January 2022. The results showed a significant increase in the rate of scientific citations for Assiut University, which reached 268,076 in January 2022 after it was only 233,059 in July 2021. This indicates an increase of 35,000 citations in the last six months.
