Vice-Chancellors of Assiut University open a handicrafts exhibition within the "Pulse of Heritage" initiative

Under the auspices of Dr. Tariq Al-Jamal, President of Assiut University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi, Vice-Chancellor of the University for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, and Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice-Chancellor of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, opened an exhibition on handiwork and artwork. In the presence of Dr. Hamdi Ahmed Zidan, Director of the Integrated Technology Transfer Unit (ITTU), Assiut University, and Professor Mohamed Issam, Entrepreneurship Coordinator, Technology Transfer Unit.

During the inspection of the exhibition, Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi expressed his great pride and pleasure of the displayed work and the skill and talent of its creator. He explained that the university administration has spared no effort in harnessing the full support of creative hardworking youth to develop their skills and promote the spirit of competition among students to bring out their best and allow students to gain experiences from each other to qualify for the labour market.

In the same context, Dr. Maha Ghanem noted that the holding of these art exhibitions is a good opportunity to support handicrafts owners to showcase their products, support them and help them promote and market them through this exhibition, and added her eagerness to hold a number of exhibitions in the coming period in support of the initiative and its important role in supporting handicrafts owners and heritage industries. The exhibition included more than 40 exhibitions that varied works between ceramics, crochets, paintings, trinkets, textiles and beads.

Dr. Hamdi Ahmed Zidan also stressed that all material and logistical support for the Pulse Heritage Initiative is provided through the incubator of technology companies at the outset. During the coming period, the Unit intends to provide a strong boost to the initiative as part of the University’s desire to support and embrace small entrepreneurs and promote sources of income for young people.

Professor Mohammed Issam commended the support of the University at all levels and the efforts made to provide all possibilities and overcome all obstacles to the success of the “Pulse of Heritage” initiative of students of the University of Assiut, which is supervised by the incubator of technological companies, noting that the support provided is a real economic empowerment of participants.
