Assiut University, under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, the president of the University, witnessed the event organized by the Egyptian Committee for Justice and Peace of the Catholic Church in Assiut, at the Hall of the heavenly ones in the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut, where the Catholic Church issued a call for peace, in front of the painful events witnessed by the world, and the conflicts and wars it is going through, which confirms the commitment, unity, and partnership for peace, and confirmation of the spirit of national unity among the Sons of the same nation, under the wise political leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, and believing that love tolerance is the fundamental pillar for the stability and progress of societies.

This event witnessed a wide participation in the presence of Major General Dr. Hisham Nasr, governor of Assiut, Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice-president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Alim, vice-president of the University for community service and environmental development, His Eminence Anba Daniel, Bishop of Assiut for Coptic Catholics, leaders of the Council of Patriarchs, Catholic bishops, and with the participation of several religious, executive, and popular leaders, representatives of Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Endowments, various churches in the province, and a select group of members of the House of Representatives and senators, university faculty members, and administrative leaders in the governorate.
