Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, organized today, Wednesday, February 19, the events of the "dialogue meeting to promote political participation" in cooperation with the Ministry of youth and sports, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, at the swimming pool hall, in the Olympic Village at the University.
The meeting was organized by the Department of political education, at the General Administration of student welfare at the university, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare, and Mr. Ahmed Shaaban Ali, director of the Department of political education.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Dwaib saber, dean of the Faculty of law, advisor to the president of the University for Legal Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Adawi, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for education and Student Affairs, and advisor to the president of the University for alumni affairs, entrepreneurship and innovation, with the participation of about (100) students from the University.
Prof. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University pays great attention to supporting various educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at encouraging young people to participate politically, as one of the principles of democracy in the new Egyptian state, and supporting Egypt's Vision 2030, valuing the University's contributions as a scientific and cultural institution working on real investment in human capital to achieve progress and stability in society in all fields.
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla pointed to the keenness of the university administration to consolidate the concept of political participation for all our students, based on the concept of patriotism and support for the state, through a series of awareness seminars at all colleges and institutes, pointing to the importance of the youth voice and their opinions, not only in the presidential elections and the House of Representatives, but in all walks of life.
In his lecture, Dr. saber Dwaib discussed the legal aspect of political participation, explaining the types of governments, the relationship between the executive and the legislature, as well as the history of Egyptian women's political participation, governance systems, and the writing of the Constitution, stressing that civilized societies have established their renaissance, civilization, and progress through attention to rights and freedoms as a basis for the development of society and the preservation of its cultural identity.
The legal advisor to the president of the University added: taking care of public interests is in the interest of raising generations capable of assuming national responsibility and participating positively in advancing development and construction efforts, pointing out the need to pay attention to the knowledge of the political and legal frameworks of the political system in the Egyptian state, in order to advance the development and construction of the homeland.
