Yesterday evening, Monday, March 24, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, honored the winning teams in the Ramadan football tournament for faculty members, organized by the Faculty of sports sciences at the University, which was held at the industrial gospel Stadium at the college, and its activities lasted from March 18 to 22, with the participation of 11 teams from various faculties of the university, under the supervision of Dr. Emad Samir, dean of the Faculty of sports sciences, and Dr. Asim saber, head of the Department of curricula and teaching methods of sports education and technical director of the championship.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Hassan Hawil, dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Duaib Saber, dean of the Faculty of law and legal adviser to the president of the University, in addition to a number of former deans of colleges, vice deans of Colleges, faculty members and their assistants, and the administrative staff of the college.
Dr. El-Minshawy stressed the University's continuous support for all sports activities, pointing out that sports play an important role in preparing a physically and psychologically healthy generation, qualified to participate in local and international competitions. He also noted the importance of sports in promoting sportsmanship and developing leadership and social communication skills for students.
At the end of the events, the winning teams were honored with the first three places, where the team of the Faculty of Sports Sciences (2) received the first place, the team of the Faculty of Arts received the second place, while the team of the Faculty of sports sciences (1) received the third place. Dr. El-Minshawy praised the outstanding sports performance and the High Sports spirit of the participating teams.
For his side, Dr. Emad Samir expressed his thanks to the university administration for its continuous support and sponsorship of sports activities, pointing out that the tournament witnessed the participation of 11 teams from various faculties such as education, specific education, commerce, law, arts, agriculture, sugar industry technology and integrated industries, and social service. The deans of the participating faculties as well as the general supervisor of student activities were also honored.
