Assiut University Associate Professor Wins the State Incentive Award in the Medical Field

Dr. Hatem Galal Zaki, Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University won the State Incentive Award for the year 2012 in the medical field. This award is granted annually for those who contribute by their distinctive scientific production in their fields of specialty. Dr Zaki is one of the pioneers in the field of laparoscopic surgery of knees and shoulders. He has also done many advanced successful laparoscopic surgeries on the pelvis.       Dr. Zaki obtained his Master’s Degree in 1999 and Ph.D. in 2004. His nomination and selection to win this year’s award is due to his distinction and excellence in the field of Orthopedic surgery and his contribution on both national and international levels. He has accomplished a number of 27 research papers published in several recognized international journals and periodicals. He has also participated in many conferences, symposiums, and workshops in Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, USA, Spain, England, Canada, Germany, and Switzerland. Dr. Zaki enjoys an international reputation as he is currently a member and editing secretary of the board of the International Society for Orthopedic Surgery, lecturer at the Swiss Orthopedic Society, trainer of instructors, and member of the Middle Eastern Educational Committee.   It is noteworthy that this is not the first prize to be awarded to Dr. Zaki as he also won the 2010 award for training from the International Society for Laparoscopy and the 2010 award from the International Society for Orthopedic Surgery.
