Assiut University issued its weekly Harvest of the most important activities, programs and events, during a week, from February 7 to February 13, 2025, during which Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in the meeting of the Council of private universities in the new administrative capital, praising the regularity of studying at Assiut private university during the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025, stressing the importance of motivating students to participate in various activities and supporting outstanding talents.
Dr. El-Minshawy also reviewed the performance report of the "New Assiut University Hospital", which provided medical and therapeutic services for more than 45,428 cases during 2024. He stressed the strong start of the second semester, pointing to the University's Organization of the forum of leaders of the unions of the New Republic "Egypt 2030", in addition to the seminar "science and its impact on building awareness" presented by the grand mufti of Egypt.
The president of the University followed up the regularity of the educational process at various faculties, praising the commitment of faculty members and administrators to attend and academic work. The university also organized a development forum entitled" fundamentals of Occupational Safety and health, occupational diseases and work injuries " under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development.
Dr. El-Minshawy received His Excellency the grand mufti of Egypt, Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayad, on the sidelines of the Leaders 'Forum of the New Republic students' unions. He also received a number of prominent guests, including Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, and a number of heads of Egyptian universities, within the framework of the forum's activities.
The president of the University, accompanied by the governor, opened the Capstone projects exhibition for students of the STEM bachelor of Science and education program, stressing that the exhibition aims to highlight the creativity of students in the development of Science, Technology and mathematics.
Under the supervision of the minister of Higher Education, Dr. El-Minshawy opened the forum of leaders of university students ' unions "Egypt 2030", stressing the importance of the role of youth in achieving national development and progress. The university also witnessed the holding of the twelfth annual conference of the Department of Obstetrics and gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine under the slogan "Better Health for women".
The university organized a major educational seminar on "science and its impact on building awareness" delivered by His Excellency the mufti of the Republic, where Dr. El-Minshawy praised the valuable participation of Dr. Nazir Ayad in raising awareness of young people about the importance of Science in building society.
The president of the university issued a decision to pay a minimum bonus of 1000 pounds to all employees of the University. Al-Ahram Al-Masai also published a news about the "leaders of university students 'unions" Forum, which comes under the supervision of the minister of higher education and headed by Dr. El-Minshawy, with the participation of Egyptian universities.
The president of the University honored the members of the Central Committee for scientific research ethics, praising their role in promoting ethical standards in research. The university also hosted the first conference of the "EISPEDN" foundation on diabetes treatment technology, in cooperation with the children's departments at universities and hospitals in Upper Egypt.
The international academic classification Office of the University held a meeting to discuss its activities and services, and the student union leaders forum also organized a lecture entitled "From the stands to the platforms: how students can lead change". In addition, a community dialogue session on the "new secondary school system (baccalaureate)" was held in cooperation with the Directorate of education in Assiut Governorate.
The University documented commemorative photos of Dr. El-Minshawy with the leaders of the Egyptian university students ' unions. The rector of the university also announced the opening of the candidacy for the position of Dean of six faculties: Science, Veterinary Medicine, Education, Physical Education, social work, and Early childhood Education.
Dr. El-Minshawy praised the success of a medical team at women's Health Hospital in saving the life of a woman who suffered a uterine explosion and a severe deterioration in her health condition. MP Ahmed Fathi and Dr. Rami Ashour also met during the activities of the forum "leaders of the New Republic unions", praising the role of the forum in qualifying students for leadership and decision-making.
The university organized the seventy-third course to prepare the university teacher, a lecture on "etiquette, protocol and ceremony" within the activities of the Leaders Forum, and also witnessed a theatrical performance entitled "Do you find yourself ugly".
Dr. El-Minshawy concluded the activities of the forum with the inauguration of the Assiut University Students ' Union, praising the importance of developing leadership skills among students. The leaders of the university students ' unions also thanked His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his efforts in promoting the country.
The rector of the University presented a scientific lecture on "leadership skills for surgeons" at an international workshop on surgical Thoracoscopy, stressing that leadership in the medical field is a responsibility, not an option. Dr. Rami Ashour also gave a lecture on"the components of national security and Inter-interactions of International Relations".
The University's Quality Assurance Center organized a training course entitled "crises and disasters", and the president of the University praised the dialogue session in which MP Ahmed Fathi, undersecretary of the Social Solidarity Committee of the House of representatives, participated with the leaders of student unions.
