The president of Assiut University follows up the aptitude tests at the Faculty of sports sciences and confirms commitment to the standards approved by the Supreme Committee of the Supreme Council of universities
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, conducted an inspection tour of the Faculty of Sports Sciences on Wednesday, July 23, to follow up on the progress of aptitude tests for high school students applying to join the college.
The president of the university was received by Dr. Emad Samir, dean of the College, Dr. Yasser Hassan, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Khadri, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Mustafa al-Sibai, vice dean for community service and environmental development, Mr. Hamdi Al-Adawi, Secretary of the college, as well as a number of faculty and staff members.
The president of the University inspected the aptitude testing committees, which included height, weight and strength measurements, as well as medical examination, and followed up the work within the control unit, and assured the regularity of procedures and good organization within the committees, and providing the appropriate atmosphere for students to contribute to the smooth performance of tests, stressing the need to adhere to the standards approved by the Higher Committee for aptitude tests at the Supreme Council of universities, to ensure the achievement of the principle of equal opportunities.
During the tour, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy directed the students to the need to show discipline and take responsibility, stressing the importance of their awareness of the great efforts exerted by the state in various sectors, calling on them to be qualified and ready to serve their community and homeland, as an active energy and the nucleus for achieving comprehensive development.
The president of the University stressed that the aptitude tests at the College of Sports Sciences represent an essential step in assessing the compatibility of students ' physical and health capabilities with the nature of study at the college, pointing out that the university is keen to apply accurate and objective standards that ensure integrity and fairness in the assessment, and praised the good discipline of students and their commitment during the performance of the tests.
Dr. El-Minshawy also pointed out that the College of Sports Sciences is one of the vital colleges that contribute to the preparation of specialized sports cadres, scientifically and physically qualified, in order to support the state's orientation towards building the Egyptian human being and qualifying young people for Sports Excellence at the local and international levels.
For his side, Dr. Emad Samir stressed that the college is committed to applying all the standards and controls approved by the Supreme Council of universities, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the assessment, pointing out that the number of students applying for aptitude tests has so far reached 1367 students, under careful follow-up and providing an environment prepared to ensure the quality of performance, explaining that the Electronic Registration and tests are ongoing until July 30.
It is worth mentioning that the aptitude tests at the Faculty of Sports Sciences include: medical examination, height, weight and strength measurements, then the students are divided into two tracks; the first is the "skill track", which is intended for sports champions with advanced positions, and the second is the "physical track" and includes six main tests: sprint for 100 meters, running for 800 meters, stretching the ankle, wide jump of stability, flexibility test, and agility test, in addition to the body Test (Personal Interview).
