Prof. Ahmed A. Gaeis, President of
Assiut University met a delegation from Koreatech University to launch a joint
scientific project and foster means of cooperation between the two parties. The
event took place in the presence of Mr. Sung Shoi, Project Director, Bill Hune
Koo, Technology Transfer researcher, and Mrs. Humang Hore, representative of the
Ministry of Education, and Ge Win Shoi, Ministry Consultant, from the Korean
side; and Prof. Usama Al-Sayed, Vive Dean for Graduate Studies and Research,
Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University, from the Egyptian side. The president
appreciated the suggestion of Korean Ministry of Education offering that a
number of grants will be annually given for researchers at Assiut University to
obtain PhD degrees. He also appraised the Korean scientific and technological
progress achieved throughout the past fifty years. Prof. Gaeis suggested that a
memorandum of understanding be signed to exchange students' delegation from both
sides and expressed the University's willingness to host Korean students in
grants to study Arabic Language.
