Meeting with the Governor of the New Valley, Prof. Mostafa Kamal Announces: Five New Faculties in the New Valley will Commence Study Next Academic Year

Prof. Mostafa Kamal, President of Assiut University, met HE Major General Tarek Al-Mahdi, Governor of the New Valley to discuss proper arrangements demanded for the commencement of study at the new Faculties (Vet. Medicine, Science, Arts, Agriculture, and Physical Education, in the new academic year 2013/2014.   Prof. Kamal asserted that the University is ardent to resolve all difficulties and accelerate the preparations for the new faculties to receive students at the beginning of the coming academic year immediately after the SCU approves to add these faculties to the list of faculties available to students passing the General Secondary School exams. It is also expected that each of the new faculties will accept about 50 – 100 new students in the first year. Prof. Kamal added that the university is now working to settle the academic and administrative structures of the new faculties, besides restructuring the faculties of Education, Arts, and Science. Likewise, the President indicated that The Ministry of Finance promised to provide new financial posts for faculty members and administrative staff with priority of selection for Master's and Ph.D. Degree holders who are residents of the New Valley Province or the neighboring Provinces, and those who have good experience and knowledge of the new Valley Province. Until these faculties fulfill their human cadres, Prof. Kamal said, the university will provide sufficient cadres to construct the bases of these faculties. Prof. Kamal said that two buildings will be soon constructed for the laboratories and teaching auditoriums, in addition to a building for the faculty of science particularly because of the specific demands and preparations. On his part, Major General Al-Mahdi expressed his pleasure that the this tremendous achievement is now approaching real accomplishment soon, particularly as it will be of very positive impact on the educational system in the province which will consequently lead to a renaissance and development in all fields.
