National strategy for Human Rights “2021/ 2026" .. An educational seminar organized by the Ministry of Finance and the National Council for Human Rights at Assiut University 

Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the University hosted an educational seminar on: "national strategy for Human Rights 2021/ 2026", which was organized by the human rights and equal opportunities Unit, Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the National Council for human rights, prepared by the executive committee of the accounts sector and financial directorates, Ministry of Finance, during which a number of university administrative leaders, officials of the financial and accounting sectors at Assiut University, its University Hospitals, and various entities from outside the university participated. 

 The seminar aimed at raising awareness among the employees of the state administrative apparatus, especially the cadres working in the accounting sectors, financial directorates, and the real estate tax authority in the governorates ( Assiut, Minya, Sohag, New Valley), introducing them to the concepts of human rights, consolidating these concepts in institutional work, and their impact on improving the quality of government services provided to citizens.

The workshop witnessed the participation of Prof. Shawkat saber, secretary general of the university, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Sherit, undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in Assiut, and Mr. Foley Mustafa, director of the training unit at the Finance Directorate, in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Fouad Ibrahim, director of Accounting units, and Mr. Essam Kamal, director general of accounts at the University, and with the participation of the University's assistant secretaries, account managers, financial affairs managers, employees of Accounting units at Assiut University, its University Hospitals, and various entities from outside the University. 

The seminar was attended by Dr. Mohammed Mamdouh, chairman of the Economic Committee of the National Council for Human Rights, and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Abdul Majid, member of the human rights and equal opportunities Unit, Ministry of Finance.

Prof. El-Minshawy praised the organization of the seminar events at Assiut University, which reflects the University's keenness to pay attention to all aspects of training and education for the personnel of its administrative apparatus, and the constant striving to create a model work environment; contribute to achieving the goals and vision of the university; to develop work, improve administrative and financial performance, praising the role of the Ministry of Finance and fruitful cooperation with the University in holding many activities that contribute to the development of the performance of employees, and raise the level of its human cadres; to improve the quality of services provided to citizens. 

During the workshop, the attendees discussed the most prominent recommendations of the National Council for human rights, including: updating the national strategy for Human Rights, working to integrate national strategies in the fields of human rights, climate change and population, in the policy of practices, procedures and executive plans at the national and local levels, in addition to raising allocations for health, education and scientific research in the state budget, as well as adopting comprehensive legislation to define and combat all forms of violence against women.

Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh, through the activities of the seminar, reviewed a number of important axes, which included; introducing the human rights organization, the Equal Opportunities unit, and the beginning of its establishment, introducing the concept of human rights, constitutional guarantees, and the development of national policies related to human rights, as well as evaluating human rights in Egypt, related to civil and political rights, the right to life, liberty and personal security, protection from torture, freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of belief and religious practice, as well as protecting the rights of marginalized groups, such as: disability - women - children), in addition to spreading the culture of human rights in relation to social, economic and cultural rights, the right to health, education, work and social protection. 

Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Majid discussed the role of the human rights and equal opportunities unit at the Ministry of Finance and its contributions to the implementation of the objectives of the National Human Rights strategy
especially the fourth axis of the strategy, which is: education and capacity-building in the field of human rights; for all employees of the state administrative apparatus, especially those working at the ministry's General Staff, its sectors and interests, and affiliated entities.
