The center of south valley development studies and researches organizes in October 2010 an international conference about "Geology and the development of civilizations in the main rivers' basins", in Luxor city in cooperation with UNESCO. The participants came from Egyptian universities and research centers, and also from Germany, Russia, USA, Syria, UAE, Iraq, and Morocco. The conference discussed subjects like: The geological development of rivers, Human civilization elements, The role of big rivers in producing clean energy, Climate changes, and The continuous progress of rivers' civilizations.
