Assiut University decorates the walls of the Dialysis Unit at the University Children's Hospital to bring joy to young patients
Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Faculty of Specific Education organized an initiative to decorate and beautify the walls of the Pediatric Dialysis Unit at the University Children’s Hospital. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yasmin El-Kahky, Dean of the Faculty, in the presence of Dr. Yasser Farouk Abdel Rahim, Director of the University Children’s Hospital, and with the participation of a group of talented students from the Faculty specializing in visual arts.
Dr. El-Minshawy emphasized the university’s commitment to utilizing arts and creative activities in the service of the community. He praised the initiative launched by the Faculty of Specific Education to beautify the dialysis unit at the University Children's Hospital, noting its significant humanitarian and psychological impact in alleviating the suffering of young patients and bringing joy to their hearts. He also affirmed the university’s support for such purposeful activities, which foster students’ sense of belonging and social responsibility and contribute to integrating art into public life to deliver noble educational and humanitarian messages.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Assiut University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, explained that organizing such events comes within the framework of the university's strategy to enhance communication between students and society, and to consolidate the values of belonging and volunteering, through their participation in effective humanitarian activities. He praised the outstanding works of art presented by the students of the Faculty of Specific Education, which added an atmosphere of joy and hope, and contributed to creating a positive visual environment that supports the psychological state of sick children.
Dr. Yasmin El-Kahky, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, expressed her pride in the students’ performance and their enthusiastic participation in the initiative. She affirmed the importance of employing the arts to improve quality of life, particularly within healthcare institutions. She also emphasized the Faculty’s dedication to channeling students’ talents into meaningful artistic projects that serve the community and provide psychological support to vulnerable groups.
At the end of the event, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla handed out certificates of appreciation and thanks to the participating students and supervisors, as an expression of the university's appreciation for their outstanding humanitarian and artistic efforts.
The event was attended by Mr. Ahmed Farag, Faculty Secretary; Ms. Somaia Mahmoud, Office Manager to the Dean; Ms. Ghada Wahid, Director of Youth Welfare at the Faculty; along with Ms. Ghada Ahmed Thabet, Ms. Rania Mostafa, and Mr. Mostafa Mohamed Thabet, Youth Welfare Supervisors, in addition to a group of students from the Department of Art Education.
