The rise of pharmacology during the middle years of the 20th century saw a huge rise in the number of diseases that could be tackled effectively with drug therapy. Since then the use of medicines has become one of the principal ways of combating disease. Pharmacology is all about “finding out how drugs work”. The department of Pharmacology is one of the pre-clinical science departments that form part of the AUN's Medical Sciences Division and is focused on basic life sciences research, undergraduate teaching for medicine and biomedical sciences students and the training and development of graduate students. At AUN, we aim to provide quality pre-clinical and clinical education in pharmacology and therapeutics for medical students, to educate and train graduate scientists by providing them with different postgraduate programs to carry out excellent, basic researches.
