About the sector

Graduate Studies and Research Sector- Assiut University is one of the University's main sectors that aims to provide the necessary leadership and guidance to support graduate studies and research activities at the University. It operates under the supervision of University Vice President of Graduate Studies and Research, in cooperation with deans of the faculties and faculty members, to easily provide graduate students with distinguished educational services and to create a motivative research environment that enhances the accomplishment of innovative and cutting-edge research that qualifies for a clear professional and educational progress. This can be achieved through coordinating efforts to provide scholarships and fellowships, academic missions, organizing scientific conferences, and encouraging scientific publications and applied projects.

Additionally, the sector contributes to achieving the University’s mission via international agreements designed to provide access to scientific advancements through a high-tech library system. The sector is also responsible for improving and establishing centres for distinctive students, and research units to encourage research activities of faculty member and to achieve the university’s mission in the field of research, new and diverse postgraduate programs, as well as in community service.
