Mission:

1.Teaching and training of students to reach an excellent level in understanding the environmental problems and its pollution, how to protect humans and animals from the hazards of pollution using scientific methods.

2.Enhance learning and research process for students, staff members and their assistants.

3.Trials to apply available techniques in the department of forensic medicine and toxicology in addition to recent techniques and the new trends related to community service and environmental development.

4.Preparing well trained veterinary graduates are able to:

- Diagnose and treat toxic cases of animals and poultry.

Dealing with the different methods of quantitative and qualitative estimation of toxicants and environmental pollutants.

Clinical examination of suspected criminal cases and write Medico-legal reports for official authorities.

Acquaintance with veterinary regulations related to veterinary carrier and quarantine measures.

Acquaintance with environmental problems surrounding the field of work and how to react positively to find out suitable solutions for problems through communication and cooperation with official authorities of this field.

Running specific training workshops for veterinarians.

Application of post-graduate programs to study the environmental problems and find suitable solutions for it.

Ascertain, the role of forensic medicine and toxicology in the cooperation with veterinary service centers of the faculty and with center of the environmental research and studies in the university, enhancement of analysis units performance of the department and establishment of new special units to cope with market need.
