The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology recieved a letter from Mahathir Science Award Foundation (MSAF) for Mahathir science award nomination.The Mahathir Science Award is bestowed on any scientists, institutions or organization worldwide in recognition of contributions and innovations towards solving problems in the tropics through science and technology and to be awarded to the most deserving based on merit.
This Award will be given to researchers who have made internationally recognised breakthroughs in pioneering tropical research in the following fields:i. Tropical Medicineii. Tropical Agricultureiii. Tropical Architecture and Engineeringiv. Tropical Natural Resources.
Prize
One Award will be conferred each year covering any of the above four fields. The Award carries a cash prize of RM 100,000.00, a gold medal and a certificate.
Criteria for Selection

NOMINATION CRITERIA
Awards will be given to researchers who have made internationally recognised breakthroughs in pioneering tropical research that have brought greater positive impacts on the well-being of society.

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) announces the call for applications for the 2013 Research Grants Program to support outstanding young postdoctoral Egyptian researchers who perform cutting edge research and undertake collaborative investigation approaches across the science and technology spectrum. The program covers research in Natural sciences, Mathematics, Information Technology, and Pre-University Education. The maximum duration of the project is 2 years and the maximum budget that can be granted is 75,000 EGP. Deadline for application is 30 April 2013.Eligibility and Deadlines Egyptian scholars who have earned their PhD within the past five years (following December 2007). Applicants must hold a current position at a public/private academic or research institution in Egypt, and the research must be conducted in Egypt. Currently engaged or can arrange to work on a joint research project with foreign counterpart(s) at a university or research center abroad. Applicants must not exceed 35 years of age by January 2013. The Center for Futuristic Studies in Assiut University and the Egypt-Japan University Of Science and Technology (E-JUST) is inviting you to attend the 7th annual conference which will be held from (12 to 14)February at 10 A.M in Professor/ Muhammad Rafat Mahmoud hall in the administration building.
PROGRAM GOAL:
Provides grant opportunities for university graduates, masters and doctoral degree candidates, and young professionals and artists to study and conduct research in the United States.
GRANT TYPES:
· Masters Degree Grants: up to two years for persons wishing to pursue postgraduate degrees in the U.S.
· Non-degree Grants: six to nine months for persons registered for advanced degrees in Egyptian universities who wish to conduct research in the U.S.
· Fine and Applied Arts Grants: six to nine months for artists who wish to conduct field research or attend master classes with professionals in the U.S.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
· Egyptian citizenship; holders of U.S. green cards and/or passports are ineligible.
· Bachelor,s degree. Minimum of (Good) for applicants in American studies, humanities, and social sciences. Minimum of (Very Good) for applicants in the sciences.
· Minimum of two years post-graduate experience at the time of application.
· For Non-Degree applicants: proof of registered masters or doctoral thesis at an Egyptian university.
· For Fine Applied and Performing Arts applicants: proof of participation in at least three post-graduate artistic activities or exhibitions; No TOEFL score required.
· Minimum Institutional (Local-ITP) TOEFL score of 550 from AMIDEAST Egypt or any of the ETS approved centers listed below, or its iBT (80) or IELTS (6) equivalent
