There is no doubt that globalization has been facing the world with many dramatic changes in all aspects of life. The field of education in general, and higher education in particular may have the greatest of those changes. Dealing with changes, today world has been trying many managerial approaches. Although most of those approaches has been proving to be successful, the effective teamwork approach is standing in the top of them because of its nature as an integrated approach and its vital ability to be developed and adapted with the continuous changes in the higher education situation. The present paper goes in detail for the changes happening in the higher education environment and how the planners and decision makers can manage those changes using the effective teamwork approach. Teamwork definitions, its types and forms, and the higher education areas that can get benefits from using this approach are presented. Finally an integrated model of maximizing of effectiveness and efficiency of the teamwork and the scientific way to handle its problems are presented
