In a warm and friendly Ramadan atmosphere, the Faculty of Law at Assiut University held its annual communal Iftar for faculty members and students, reflecting the faculty's commitment to strengthening bonds and communication among its academic community and students.

The Iftar was attended by Professor Dr. Doueib Hussein Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Legal Advisor to the University President; Professor Dr. Ragab Mohamed El-Sayed El-Kahlawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Mo'amar Rateeb, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Abdel-Radi, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

The event was also attended by a number of faculty members, including Professor Dr. Nasser Othman, Professor Dr. Hammad Mustafa Azab, Professor Dr. Hilali Abdallah, Professor Dr. Khaled Gamal Ahmed, Professor Dr. Fouad Moussa, Professor Dr. Kilani Abdel-Radi, Professor Dr. Khader Mohamed Abdel-Rahim, Professor Dr. Badr El-Salam, Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein Moussa, and Professor Dr. Anwar Mattawa Mansour, along with several other faculty members and students.

Under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, the Faculty of Law at Assiut University is preparing to organize its 14th International Scientific Conference, entitled "Modern Legislative Trends in the Context of the New Republic and Arab Systems," from May 12 to 14, 2026. The conference will feature a distinguished group of law professors, experts, and researchers from Egyptian and Arab universities, reflecting the university's scientific and research role in supporting legal studies and keeping pace with contemporary legislative developments.

The conference is being held under the supervision of Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and chaired by Dr. Doueib Hussein Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Abdel-Radi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Mo'ammar Rateeb Mohamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, are serving as the conference coordinators.

In this context, Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy emphasized that organizing the 14th International Scientific Conference at the Faculty of Law reflects the university's commitment to supporting specialized scientific research and fostering scholarly dialogue on contemporary legal issues. This contributes to the development of legal thought and keeps pace with the rapid changes occurring in society. For his part, Dr. Doueib Hussein Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Conference Chair, explained that the conference represents an important scientific platform for discussing the most prominent modern legislative trends at both the Egyptian and Arab levels. It also provides an opportunity to review comparative experiences and exchange scholarly perspectives on developing legislation to keep pace with economic, social, and technological changes. He noted that the conference includes a number of specialized scientific sessions featuring a select group of professors and researchers who will discuss contemporary legal issues, thus strengthening the role of universities and academic institutions in supporting legislative reform and modernization.

The conference chairman added that this scientific event comes at a crucial time, as the Arab Republic of Egypt is witnessing a qualitative phase of institutional and legislative development within the framework of the state's vision for building the new republic. This phase requires a conscious and scholarly reading, a precise monitoring of developments in legal thought, and an objective analysis of the trajectories of legislative development, not only in Egypt but also in various Arab systems.

Dr. Dweib Hussein Saber also invited parliamentarians, politicians, judges, lawyers, researchers, postgraduate students, faculty members, and students to actively participate in the conference, contributing to enriching the scientific discussion and exchanging experiences and perspectives on developing legislation to meet the requirements of the current stage.
