prof.El-Minshawy: the seminar discusses the latest technological developments in therapeutic nutrition and its role in the treatment of diseases
Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University; the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology, Therapeutic Nutrition and Fatty Liver Clinic, Al-Rajhi Hospital, Assiut University organized today, Wednesday, December: a scientific symposium entitled "fueling your future with therapeutic nutrition", under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for postgraduate studies and research, Dr. Alaa Attiyah, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, chairman of the board of University Hospitals, Dr. Amani Omar, vice dean of the Faculty of medicine for postgraduate studies and research.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Sherif Kamel, Director of Al-Rajhi Hospital, Dr. Hanan Mohammed Nafi, head of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Naha Ali Ahmed, teacher at the department, Dr. Marwa Abdul Razek, Dr. Amira al-Sayed, the seminar's courses, a group of professors, faculty members, the Associate Board, young doctors at the Department of Tropical Medicine and gastroenterology, and doctors supervising the clinic of therapeutic nutrition and fatty liver at the University, with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Al-Khatib, professor of Pharmacology and therapeutic nutrition in the eyes.
Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi stressed the importance of the seminar topic, which deals with therapeutic nutrition, as one of the biomedical fields, and part of the basics of treating, alleviating, and managing many diseases, and it is no less important than drug therapy, explaining that the seminar discusses within its axes; modern technologies in the specialty of therapeutic nutrition, and explaining how to employ them to improve the health of patients, exploring new opportunities for diagnosis, and treatment using artificial intelligence.
The president of Assiut University pointed out that the university is keen to sponsor and support medical scientific meetings because of their importance in honing the skills of healthcare providers and keeping abreast of the latest global developments, which contributes to enhancing the capabilities of the University's health system and achieving more achievements in the performance indicators of the health system at University Hospitals in various medical specialties, reflected in the improvement of health services provided to patients.
During his speech, Dr. Jamal Badr expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Faculty of Medicine in upgrading the medical system at the university, as well as its efforts in serving the educational and research process, raising the capabilities and skills of young doctors, and keeping them aware and up to date with the latest medical developments, explaining that therapeutic nutrition is one of the most famous specialties globally and that approximately 35% of scientific research published internationally came in the specialty of therapeutic nutrition, calling on the doctors of the Department of Tropical Medicine and gastroenterology, the clinic of therapeutic nutrition and fatty liver at Al Rajhi hospital to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy diet; prevention and Prevention of diseases.
For his side, Dr. Sherif Kamel pointed to the role of the therapeutic nutrition and fatty liver unit at Al-Rajhi Hospital at the University, which, through its medical team, provides specialized and medically studied nutrition systems and programs that suit the condition of each patient, pointing out that therapeutic nutrition has become an integral part of the treatment system in all diseases, sincerely thanking the university administration for its support to the unit since its establishment until it performs its assigned tasks.
Dr. Hanan Mohammed Nafi explained that the seminar discussed several important topics in the field of therapeutic nutrition, namely; the role of artificial intelligence in therapeutic nutrition, and the side effects of some foods, in addition to a discussion; on therapeutic nutrition in Islam, and types of protein, the seminar also dealt with the role of radiation in therapeutic nutrition.
