Assiut University Organizes Workshop on "Mechanisms for Improving the Quality of Administrative Performance for the Digital Platform Team of the Supreme Council of Universities"

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, affirmed that improving the quality of administrative performance across the University's various sectors is a fundamental pillar in supporting digital transformation and advancing the implementation of the smart university concept. He noted that these efforts contribute to enhancing institutional efficiency, improving the speed and accuracy of administrative processes, elevating the quality of services provided to stakeholders, strengthening transparency, and supporting evidence-based decision-making through accurate and up-to-date data.

These remarks came during a workshop organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, headed by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the title: "Mechanisms for Improving the Quality of Administrative Performance for the Digital Platform Team of the Supreme Council of Universities." The workshop forms part of the Sector's ongoing efforts to advance the digitalization of its activities and enhance administrative efficiency.

Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy explained that the workshop reflects the Sector's commitment to supporting digital transformation by developing the capabilities of administrative staff across the University's faculties and centers. He noted that the initiative aims to improve workflows related to the Supreme Council of Universities' digital platform, ensure the accuracy and quality of uploaded reports, identify challenges encountered by platform teams, and develop practical solutions to address them.

The workshop featured a lecture delivered by Professor Mohamed Mostafa Hamad, Professor at the Faculty of Education and General Supervisor of the digital platform on behalf of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. During his presentation, he discussed the key challenges encountered by administrative team members while using the platform, explained the concepts underlying data entry templates, outlined the mechanisms used to evaluate activities, and reviewed the timeline established for uploading reports.

The workshop also highlighted best practices for accurately documenting activities to enhance the transparency and credibility of the data submitted to the platform and maximize its value in supporting informed institutional decision-making.

The event concluded with the distribution of roles and responsibilities among the working teams representing the Sector's faculties and centers, ensuring coordinated efforts toward achieving the University's digital transformation objectives.

Assiut University Holds Preparatory Meeting for Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Submission to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and chaired by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the University's committee responsible for preparing and reviewing the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector submission convened for a preparatory meeting in support of Assiut University's participation in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

The meeting focused on reviewing and preparing the documentation required for the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector across the ranking's key assessment areas, including Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Education, and Community Engagement. Participants also discussed the necessary procedures to ensure that the submission complies with the ranking's requirements before it is uploaded to the UI GreenMetric digital platform.

The meeting reflects Assiut University's continued commitment to strengthening its performance in international sustainability rankings through the systematic preparation of high-quality documentation and the promotion of best practices in environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Assiut University Reviews Community Service and Environmental Development Files for UI GreenMetric World University Rankings

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and chaired by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the University's UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Committee responsible for preparing the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector files convened to review the University's submissions for the international ranking.

The meeting focused on evaluating the files prepared by the committee members in accordance with the template issued by the UI GreenMetric ranking office. Participants assessed the completeness and suitability of the submitted documentation, identified information gaps, and discussed the appropriate methods for addressing them, including determining the required data and the most reliable sources for obtaining the missing information.

The meeting forms part of Assiut University's ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality and completeness of its submissions to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, supporting the University's commitment to sustainability and continuous institutional development.

Assiut University Faculty of Law Organizes Evacuation Drill to Promote Occupational Safety Awareness

As part of Assiut University's ongoing commitment to promoting occupational safety and enhancing awareness of security and safety procedures across its facilities, the Faculty of Law organized a training session on the implementation of emergency evacuation plans on Thursday, 11 June. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Dweib Hussein Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Professor Moammar Rateeb, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy affirmed that Assiut University is committed to fostering a culture of occupational safety and health while raising awareness of security and safety procedures among all members of the university community, thereby ensuring a safe educational and working environment across its various sectors.

The University President emphasized that training on evacuation procedures, crisis management, and emergency response is essential for enhancing the preparedness of staff and students, enabling them to respond effectively during emergencies, safeguarding lives and property, and reinforcing a culture of prevention and safety throughout the university.

The training session was organized in collaboration with the University's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Civil Protection Unit, and University Security Administration, under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Abdelbaset, Supervisor of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration across the University's sectors and university hospitals. The session featured the participation of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Civil Protection Officer, Mr. Moamen Faqir, Director General of University Security, in addition to staff members of the Faculty of Law.

The program introduced participants to the principles of occupational safety and health, accident and injury prevention measures, and procedures for responding to potential hazards. It also provided practical guidance on implementing safe and efficient evacuation procedures during emergencies to minimize human and material losses. In addition, the training covered the fundamentals of first aid and the appropriate procedures to follow both within and outside the workplace.

The organizers emphasized that these activities form part of the University's comprehensive plan to promote awareness of safety and security procedures, enhance the preparedness of employees across all sectors, and equip them to respond effectively to emergencies in accordance with approved standards, thereby supporting a safe and sustainable educational and working environment for all members of the University community.

The event concluded with a practical evacuation drill designed to assess participants' readiness to respond to emergency situations, improve response times, and reinforce a culture of prevention and safety throughout the University.

Assiut University Board of Foreign Language Centers Discusses Enhancing Training Programs and Expanding Educational Services

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Board of Directors of the University's Foreign Language Centers held its regular meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing institutional performance and improving the quality of the educational and training services provided by the centers. The meeting was attended by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with members of the Board.

The meeting was attended by Professor Atef El-Naqeeb, Supervisor of the Russian Language Center; Professor Noha Abdel Aziz Rizk, Supervisor of the French Language Center; Professor Abeer Raafat Khalaf, Supervisor of the English Language Center; and Mr. Shawky Saber, Secretary-General of the University.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy affirmed that Assiut University places great importance on the continuous development of its Foreign Language Centers, recognizing them as one of the University's key pillars in preparing and qualifying students and graduates while enhancing their competitiveness in both local and international labor markets. He noted that proficiency in foreign languages has become an essential requirement in light of rapid global developments and the growing demands of education, technology, and international communication.

The University President added that the University is committed to supporting the Foreign Language Centers and continuously updating their programs by offering advanced educational and training courses aligned with international standards. These initiatives contribute to developing participants' linguistic and communication skills while promoting a culture of lifelong learning and entrepreneurship, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the country's sustainable development objectives.

For his part, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy emphasized the vital role played by the Foreign Language Centers in supporting the University's vision of fostering cultural and intellectual openness and strengthening academic collaboration with educational and research institutions. He stressed the importance of continuously developing training programs and educational curricula to meet labor market demands and keep pace with digital transformation.

Professor Adawy further explained that the meeting discussed mechanisms for attracting a larger number of learners from both within and outside the University, as well as expanding the range of training services offered to faculty, staff, students, and graduates. These efforts aim to prepare highly qualified individuals equipped with the linguistic and professional skills needed to compete at both the regional and international levels.

The Board also reviewed the major activities undertaken by the Foreign Language Centers during the recent period. These included organizing specialized language training courses in several foreign languages, delivering career-oriented qualification programs for students and graduates, administering language placement tests, providing certified translation services, and collaborating with a number of local and international organizations to implement joint programs designed to enhance language proficiency and communication skills.

Assiut University Holds Board Meeting of the Software and Computer Technology Unit to Maximize the Utilization of Its Services

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Board of Directors of the Software and Computer Technology Unit held a meeting to review the Unit's work plan and discuss ways to maximize the utilization of its services in support of the University's digital transformation strategy and institutional performance enhancement. The meeting was chaired by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Chairman of the Unit's Board of Directors, and was attended by Professor Islam Ali Tag El-Din Fathallah, Director of the Software and Computer Technology Unit; Professor Alaa El-Din Abdel Hakim Mohamed, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering; and Eng. Ayman Ayad, Director of the Assiut Branch of the Information Technology Institute (ITI).

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that Assiut University is committed to advancing its technological and digital infrastructure as a key pillar in achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030. He noted that the Software and Computer Technology Unit plays a vital role in supporting the University's information systems and delivering innovative technological solutions that enhance educational, administrative, and research services. These efforts keep pace with the rapid developments in information technology and digital transformation while improving the quality of services provided both within the University and to the wider community.

For his part, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy explained that the Unit seeks to transfer the expertise gained through the University's digitalization projects to various government institutions, thereby reinforcing the University's leading role in community service and the development of the surrounding environment. He added that the Unit also contributes to scientific projects requiring the design of specialized software systems, assists in preparing technical specifications for hardware and software, and participates in the technical evaluation of procurement practices and tenders related to computer and information technology.

During the meeting, the Board discussed several agenda items, including a report on updating the University's printing press operations through modern digitalization and digital transformation mechanisms. Members also reviewed plans to deliver training courses in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for employees of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. In addition, the Board discussed launching an official social media presence for the Unit to promote its services, with the aim of maximizing the utilization of its capabilities and supporting Assiut University's vision of becoming a smart university powered by the latest digital systems and technologies.

Assiut University’s Faculty of Education Organizes Occupational Safety Awareness Seminar and Conducts Emergency Evacuation Drill

As part of Assiut University's ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of occupational safety and enhancing awareness of health and safety procedures across its facilities, and under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Faculty of Education organized an awareness seminar on occupational safety procedures on Tuesday, June 16, followed by the implementation of an emergency evacuation drill. The event was held under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Hassan Hawil, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Amani Mohamed Sherif, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that fostering a culture of occupational safety and raising awareness of preventive measures and emergency response procedures are fundamental to providing a safe and sustainable university environment. He noted that the University is committed to organizing regular training and awareness programs to enhance the preparedness of its faculty, staff, and students to respond effectively to emergency situations in accordance with the highest safety standards.

The seminar was organized in collaboration with the University's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Civil Protection Unit, and University Security Administration, under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Abdelbaset, Supervisor of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for the University's sectors and university hospitals. The event was attended by Major General Ibrahim Anous, Advisor to the University President for Security; Mr. Moamen Fakir, Director General of the University Security Administration; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Civil Protection Officer; in addition to faculty members and administrative staff of the Faculty of Education.

Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy explained that the seminar was organized as part of the University's comprehensive plan to promote awareness of safety and security procedures, strengthen the capabilities of employees across various sectors, and prepare them to respond effectively to emergencies in accordance with approved standards. He added that continuous awareness and training are essential components of enhancing preparedness and ensuring effective emergency response.

For his part, Professor Hassan Hawil affirmed the Faculty of Education's commitment to regularly implementing and rehearsing evacuation plans, emphasizing their importance in safeguarding lives and protecting property. He noted that such drills play a vital role in improving awareness and ensuring appropriate responses during emergency situations.

Professor Amani Mohamed Sherif explained that the seminar aimed to familiarize participants with occupational safety procedures and the appropriate actions to take during emergencies, thereby improving the effectiveness of evacuation plans and ensuring the highest levels of safety within the University work environment.

The seminar featured several awareness sessions. Professor Mohamed Abdelbaset presented an overview of occupational safety and health concepts, accident and injury prevention measures, risk management procedures, and the steps required for safe and efficient evacuation during emergencies.

Major General Ibrahim Anous also reviewed the causes of fires, fire prevention measures, firefighting methods, and the proper use of fire extinguishers. His presentation additionally covered basic first aid principles and the procedures to be followed in various emergency situations.

The event concluded with a practical evacuation drill designed to assess participants' readiness to respond to emergencies, enhance rapid response capabilities, and reinforce a culture of prevention and safety throughout the University community.

Assiut University’s Integrated Technology Transfer Unit Discusses Enhancing Training Services, Entrepreneurship, and Project Support

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the Board of Directors of the Integrated Technology Transfer Unit (ITTU) held its regular meeting, chaired by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. The meeting discussed a number of topics related to enhancing the Unit’s performance and expanding its services in the areas of training, entrepreneurship, research, and development, as well as supporting technology transfer and transforming research outcomes into practical applications and products that serve industry and society.

The meeting was attended by Professor Khaled Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Mohamed Abbas, General Supervisor of the Unit; Professor Mohamed Soliman, Director of the University Center for Career Development and Advisor to the University President for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Affairs; Professor Nesma Heshmat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Graduate Studies and Research and Director of the University Services Marketing Center; Dr. Amr Abdel Sabour, Director of Training at the Unit; and Mr. Mohamed Amin Salama, Assistant Secretary-General of the University.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy affirmed that innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer are among the University's strategic priorities, reflecting its role as an educational and research institution committed to maximizing the impact of scientific research by transforming its outcomes into practical solutions and development projects with tangible economic and societal benefits.

The University President further noted that the Integrated Technology Transfer Unit serves as an important platform for supporting researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs while strengthening collaboration between the University and the industrial and productive sectors. These efforts contribute to building a knowledge-based economy and align with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development.

For his part, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy emphasized that the Integrated Technology Transfer Unit represents one of the University's key pillars in advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Through its specialized services in entrepreneurship, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startup development, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with organizations that foster innovation and creativity, the Unit plays a vital role in achieving the University's strategic objectives.

During the meeting, the Board reviewed several organizational and developmental matters related to the Unit’s operations and discussed mechanisms for enhancing the quality and efficiency of the services provided to beneficiaries. Participants also reviewed plans to further develop the Unit’s training programs and approved updates to the fees for professional training programs in line with ongoing development efforts and quality standards.

The Board also discussed the implementation of laser engraving and cutting works for informational signage as part of Assiut University’s Open Botanical Garden Project. The signage will provide detailed information about the trees and plant species within the garden, supporting educational and research activities, enriching the learning experience of students at the Faculty of Science and University visitors, and maximizing the garden’s value as a practical model for education, scientific research, and environmental awareness.

Assiut University Energy Management Center Explores Strategies to Enhance Performance, Promote Energy Conservation, and Advance Sustainability

Under the patronage of Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the University's Energy Management Center held a meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing its performance, promoting a culture of energy conservation, and advancing sustainability practices. The meeting was attended by Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Ahmed Abdelmalek, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Energy Management Center; and members of the Center.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy emphasized that the Energy Management Center serves as a key mechanism supporting the University's efforts to achieve environmental sustainability and improve institutional performance. He noted that Assiut University has adopted a comprehensive strategy aimed at optimizing resource consumption, expanding the implementation of environmentally friendly practices, and supporting scientific and technological solutions that enhance energy efficiency. These efforts align with Egypt's transition toward a green economy and the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.

During the meeting, participants discussed several agenda items, including the development and implementation of specialized training programs in energy efficiency, expanding the Center's technical and research consultancy services for University units and external stakeholders, and strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation with universities and research institutions at both the Arab and international levels through seminars, conferences, and workshops related to the Center's areas of expertise. The meeting also explored the proposal to launch a specialized scientific journal in the field of energy management.

For his part, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy affirmed the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector's commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to building a sustainable university model integrating operational efficiency with environmental responsibility. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the University's energy systems and adopt innovative solutions that enhance energy efficiency, reduce waste, generate positive economic and environmental outcomes, and mitigate environmental impacts.

Professor Adawy also underscored the importance of raising awareness of energy and sustainability issues while maximizing the utilization of the scientific and research expertise available at the Energy Management Center. He noted that these efforts support the University's mission to promote sustainable development and serve the community.

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy Announces Assiut University's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector Ranks Third Among Egyptian Universities on the Supreme Council of Universities' Digital Platform

Professor Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, announced that the University's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector has achieved remarkable progress on the Supreme Council of Universities' digital platform, advancing to third place among Egyptian universities.

Professor El-Minshawy explained that the Sector's advancement reflects its success in strengthening its presence on the Council's digital platform through a comprehensive system for documenting activities and events. This integrated approach accurately showcases the University's extensive efforts in community service and environmental development while ensuring that its achievements are presented in a systematic and well-organized manner.

The University President congratulated the team responsible for documenting and reviewing the Sector's activities, commending their outstanding efforts that contributed to this achievement. He emphasized that this accomplishment reflects the efficiency of the Sector's operational framework and the strong spirit of collaboration among the University's faculties, centers, and administrative units. It also supports the University's digital transformation strategy and reinforces a culture of quality in documenting institutional activities and events.

For his part, Professor Mohamed Ahmed Adawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the Sector ranked fifth with 1,004 documented activities on May 4, 2026, advanced to fourth place with 1,125 activities on June 13, and ultimately achieved third place with 1,400 activities on June 16, 2026.

Professor Adawy noted that this progress was made possible through the implementation of a comprehensive system for monitoring and documenting activities. The process begins with the Vice Deans for Community Service and Environmental Development at the University's faculties, followed by an academic review to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the required data by the academic coordinator and the administrative specialist. Activity reports are then reviewed by the Sector's academic reviewers before monthly reports are prepared to monitor the volume of activities uploaded to the digital platform by the University's faculties and centers.

In the same context, Professor Mohamed Mostafa Hamad, Professor at the Faculty of Education and General Supervisor of the team, stated that a unified template had been developed for documenting and uploading all activities and events organized by the faculties and centers affiliated with the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. The template covers seminars, training programs, workshops, initiatives, convoys, exhibitions, and other activities, with the aim of standardizing documentation procedures and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the recorded information.

He added that the team reviewed all submitted activities for language quality, completeness of the documentation template, and overall content quality. He also noted that the academic review team included Prof. Marian Milad Mansour (Faculty of Education), Professor Sabreen Araby Saad (Faculty of Social Work), Associate Professor Randa Youssef Mohamed (Faculty of Agriculture), Associate Professor Sanaa Mohamed Zahran (Faculty of Social Work), and Dr. Afaf Marei Morad (Faculty of Education).

This achievement reflects the success of Assiut University's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in advancing its digital documentation system and enhancing the quality of institutional activity reporting, further strengthening the University's standing among Egyptian universities on the Supreme Council of Universities' digital platform.
