Endotoxemia as produced in rats by i.p. injection of LPS. in the present study, bile flow rate, biliary excretion of GSH and lysosomal glycosidases were measured. In addition to the meaurement of LPO, NO and some antioxidant enzymes activities in the liver and eythrocytes lysate. The results foud that LPS caused a sgnificant increase in AST,ALT, GGT, LPO and NO. However, bile flw rate and the biliary excretion of GSH andlysosomal glycoidases and antioxdant enzymes activiies were decreased.The study indicated that LPS induced hepatic injury in rats by increased release of ROS which is consumed endogenous antioxidant.
